Glemsford Library's 'temporary' home is now officially a permanent one.

The library moved out of the village hall two years ago whilst essential building work took place and moved into Unit 1a Bells Lane, next door to the Spar.

The work took longer than expected but the library's new home ended up being such a success that it has now been confirmed as the permanent location.

It is bigger and more accessible with parking next to it making it easier to access the programme of regular activities.

Suffolk Libraries has been working with Suffolk County Council to agree a new lease for the Bells Lane site which has now been approved and finalised.

Bruce Leeke, chief executive of Suffolk Libraries, said: "The new site provides an excellent location for the many services and activities all our libraries provide and I’m sure Glemsford Library will continue to play a vital role at the centre of the village for the local community to enjoy."
