Plans for a pair of flats above a former hair salon have been given the green light by a council.
Tempophase Ltd submitted a prior approval application for the change of use of the first floor space above the former Alcatraz hair salon at 1 Gaol Lane in Sudbury in June.
Babergh District Council officers have now granted prior approval to the plans, which would see two one-bedroom flats created in the space.
In a statement to the council, the applicant confirmed the flats will be located in the ancillary first floor space above the ground floor retail premises.
They confirmed the ground floor will remain for Class E (retail) use.
Suffolk Highways said further information regarding off-road parking was required and therefore objected until this was carried out.
Sudbury Town Council also recommended refusal based on this objection.
However, an officer report read: "Schedule 2, Part 3, Class G does not require consideration of off-street parking, as such the request for further information or refusal on this basis would not be justified."
The plan was issued prior approval on August 6.
