With Ipswich Town’s Championship season just over a week away from kicking-off, excitement is building at Portman Road – the buzz at Thursday’s open day spreading a new wave of optimism amongst supporters.
Six new signings have been brought in to date, with Joe Garner, Bersant Celina, Emyr Huws and Tom Adeyemi expected to add a new attacking energy to proceedings and Dominic Iorfa and Jordan Spence bolstering Town’s defensive options, as well as being expected to create chances from out wide.
With the hunt for a striker still in full flow, Chief Football Writer Stuart Watson joined sports writer Chris Brammer for a Facebook Live chat earlier this lunchtime.
The duo looked ahead to tomorrow’s final friendly of the summer at Charlton, reflected on the success of the open day and discussed whether Mick McCarthy can finally pin down that elusive replacement for Daryl Murphy.
