ELLISTON Arthur Henry Arthur 'Woody' Elliston, timber and firewood merchant, died on 17th July 2024 at Baylham Care Centre, Needham Market, aged 94. Arthur was born in Elmswell where he spent most of his life. During his national service he took part in the Berlin Airlift at the end of the Second World War. He returned to Elmswell in 1950 and enjoyed a long and successful career in the timber business. He created a magnificent garden at his Elmswell home and, in the evenings, could be found playing the piano, which he loved, with his faithful dog by his side. A service will take place at West Suffolk Crematorium on Tuesday 13th August at 11.30 am. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
